Keep Moorpark Moving!
Let's Move, Moorpark...¡Vamos a movernos!  Thank you to Patricia Calderon at Catholic Charities for helping to make this event possible.  Everyone in attendance came out to learn more about getting healthy and moving.  We all had a good time moving and gained knowledge of the services the community has to offer.

Let's Move, Moorpark...Afterschool!  Thank you to all that helped make our SPARK afterschool training a huge success.  Everyone in attendance learned new activities, had a great time AND a great workout!

Our teacher brain break and activity break trainings were a huge success.  Thank to all the teachers and support staff using these breaks to keep our students moving throughout the day!

We want to thank Dr. Yancey for her visit to Moorpark to help us kick start our "Instant Recess" movement.  Our hope is that both adults and children are taking the time to regularly enjoy a little recess in their day!

Data Collection Results

Results of PEP's data collection efforts are in:

To see full results please click on the link titled “2011 Spring/Fall PEP data collection results” in the document section on the left side of the page.  There you can find out: how far the K-5 students of Moorpark have traveled with the PACER; how many students are making healthy choices by eating the recommended daily amounts of fruits and vegetables; how many students are passing the State Physical Fitness Test; the MUSD K-5 students overall Body Mass Index (BMI); as well as the K-5 BMI by grade level.

What's new

During January and February the K-5 students will have the opportunity to take part in another round of pedometer data collection and our "Fruit and Vegetable Survey".
During March students will again have the opportunity to participate in the PACER test.

Please talk to your children about making healthy choices by eating more fruits and vegetables as well as getting out and being more active!
